Tabet DiVito & Rothstein is pleased to announce that Daniel L. Stanner and John M. Fitzgerald have been promoted to equity partner at the firm.
Dan represents a wide range of clients in product liability defense, transportation litigation, construction litigation, professional malpractice, and commercial litigation. He has represented plaintiffs and defendants in hundreds of personal injury and wrongful death actions.
Dan also defends product manufacturers from claims involving forklifts, aircraft, firearms, and combines, among others. As part of that practice, he currently represents a Fortune 200 company on more than 30 product liability claims consolidated in Illinois arising from the use of cooking sprays. He has also handled claims involving allegedly defective candles sold nationally and represented a manufacturer of Chinese drywall in a massive multidistrict litigation.
Dan has also worked with the Chicago Bar Association’s Judicial Evaluation Committee where he served as both an investigator and a committee member. He was also elected by his peers to become a member of the Illinois Society of Trial Lawyers, an esteemed group of attorneys from both the plaintiff and defense bars in Illinois.
John is a trial and appellate lawyer who focuses his practice in business and commercial litigation, constitutional and governmental litigation, professional liability disputes, construction litigation, and professional responsibility matters for judges and attorneys. John represents clients in a variety of industries, including construction, health care, public accounting, and manufacturing. He also frequently represents other attorneys in disputes with their partners and law firms.
John served as the 53rd President of the Appellate Lawyers Association (ALA), an association of lawyers who practice in courts of review and judges who serve on those courts. John previously served as the Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer of the ALA.
John is the author of A Guide to the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, which the Illinois State Bar Association published in 2020. It is the first published book to examine the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act and cases interpreting it. John co-authored the second edition of the Guide in 2021.
