On September 30, 2026, the Illinois Supreme Court denied a petition for leave to appeal from the unanimous order of the Illinois Appellate Court, First Judicial District, affirming the Circuit Court of Cook County’s judgment in favor of the Village of La Grange in long-running easement litigation against the owner of a quarry. The Circuit Court ruled in favor of the Village on its claim that it owns an easement to use an underground pipe for stormwater management. That ruling will allow the Village to proceed with a stormwater relief program that will benefit Village residents. The Supreme Court’s order definitively ends this litigation on terms favorable to the Village and its residents.

TDR partners Daniel Stanner, Kyle Cooper, and John Fitzgerald represented the Village.
