TDR partner Gino L. DiVito has prepared a color-coded guide comparing the new Illinois Rules of Evidence with the Federal Rules of Evidence and providing commentary on the new rules. DiVito is a member of the Special Supreme Court Committee on Illinois Evidence, the body that formulated the rules and presented them to the Supreme Court of Illinois for approval. The Supreme Court adopted the rules on September 27, 2010, and they became effective on January 1, 2011. Starting with the January 1, 2012 edition, the guide also includes the Federal Rules of Evidence as amended effective December 1, 2011.
